Why is kelp sold elsewhere so much cheaper?
The old saying that you get what you pay for is very true here. Kelp absorbs its nutrients from surrounding water through the leaves. Kelp has roots but they only serve to anchor it to the ocean floor. Thus, poor quality water (pollution, pesticides, fertilizer run off, etc)   equals poor quality kelp. Some of the stuff that kelp absorbs are not  good to eat. Some kelp has too much of one thing and not enough of something else. Norwegian Kelp has been shown by research to be the best quality kelp you can get. It's the only kind we sell. Your pet deserves the best.

Yes you can. It is more expensive that way. Some pets prefer to swallow several Kelp for People vitamin pills rather than taste the kelp on their food. Fish oil is used as a binder to keep the kelp in pill form with the added benefits of  vitamin A & D. Pets will require multiple pills to get the correct  dosage. For pets who are picky  eaters, we suggest Vegetarian Blend which has a cheese taste.

One of your competitors said that kelp has arsenic in it and not to give it to my pet. What is the story on that?
There is indeed a small amount of arsenic in Norwegian Kelp and most other kelps as well. The amount  in a 2.2 lb. Pail is smaller than the point of a needle.
To compare with other products, If you eat just one apple, you are eating many times more arsenic that in an  entire pail of Norwegian kelp.  The amounts involved are too small  to worry about.

Can I eat the same kelp I feed my pets?
We have people who sprinkle kelp on their cereal in the morning or mix it with other food. The difference      between the kelp vitamins and granular kelp is that the vitamins use  fish oil as a binder to retain the pill form. As an added benefit, the fish oil has vitamins A and D.  Also the vitamins are bottled in a USDA supervised plant .

My pet turns up her nose when I give her the kelp on top of her food. How else can I give it to her?

You can stir the kelp into her food which will help hide the taste. If using dry food, you can mix the kelp with a little water to make a paste which will stick to the dry food. Some people will mix the kelp with peanut butter on a half slice of bread, fold the bread and toss it to them as a treat.  You could use jelly or something like that. You can switch to Vegetarian Blend Kelp which has  cheese taste.
